An undocumented man known as Armando Eliu Melgar Diaz will be the first leader of MS-13 to face terrorism charges. The 30-year-old Diaz ordered assassinations. He also enabled the gang’s extortion and drug trafficking, and he oversaw 20 MS-13 groups from Louisiana to New York.
President Trump, who has had MS-13 in his sights since 2017, stated that using terrorism gives the law extra strength. He expressed his gratification in the takedowns, which included other members of the gang. Trump stated that he and his administration believe monsters that murder children should face capital punishment.
Alexi Saenz (one of the many MS-13 members recently arrested), could be facing the death penalty according to Attorney General William Barr. Barr has expressed his beliefs of MS-13, calling them unique among criminal organizations being both savage and sophisticated.
