Trump Crushing Biden According to New CNN Poll

(UnitedVoice.com) – The 2024 presidential election is approximately seven months away. Generally, polling this early out isn’t much of an indicator of how Americans will feel in November, but it’s still important. A new survey has given Democrats reasons to be afraid.

On April 28, CNN released a poll showing former President Donald Trump leading incumbent President Joe Biden in the presidential race. The survey was conducted for the media outlet by SSRS. The 45th president’s support among registered voters was 49% to Biden’s 43% in a head-to-head match-up. When third-party candidates are added, Biden loses to Trump, 42% to 33%.

According to the survey, Americans generally look back on Trump’s presidency in a positive way. The majority, 55%, said his tenure was a success, while 44% looked at it negatively. That’s a significant change from how Americans felt in 2021 when he left office, and 55% said his presidency was a failure.

Republicans are still staunchly behind Trump, with 92% saying his presidency was a success. Meanwhile, just 73% of Democrats indicated they thought Biden was a success.

Of those surveyed, 61% of all voters said that Biden’s presidency has been a failure, and only 39% said it is a success. When pollsters asked independents if they thought Trump’s presidency was successful, 51% said it was, but only 37% thought Biden was a success.

Biden has done poorly in the polls since his withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan in August 2021. Rising prices have also made it hard for working-class families across the country, which has hurt Biden’s image. While they are feeling the pain in their wallets, the president is running on an out-of-touch economic platform and claiming things are looking up.

The results of the poll aren’t surprising historically speaking. The American people generally look back on presidencies with a much more positive view than when they were in it. Trump could benefit from this shift in November when Americans head to the polls to choose their next leader.
