In the video above, Jason Salyer does a fantastic job of demonstrating some ways to use a permanent marker to start a fire. Thanks to the alcohol in the ink, it’s pretty flammable, making it easy to ignite and start some tinder on fire. You can also shave the marker itself to create tinder. We don’t need to tell you how important fire is when you’re trying to survive.
Some of this may be difficult if you don’t have the correct tools. Thankfully, Jason simply uses a knife and some flint or ferrocerium rod.
