Mosquitoes HATE These Plants

Mosquitoes HATE These Plants

(TacticalNews.com) – The only thing more annoying than a mosquito is several of them in a concentrated area. These biting, blood-sucking bugs can not only drive you crazy, but also spread disease. The good news is there are natural ways to keep mosquitoes at bay; the pests absolutely hate these plants.

As the video depicts, lemongrass is a great way to keep mosquitoes away without killing them. It’s doubtful anyone would complain if the pests did die, but there are probably a few conservationists out there who care about them.

Another great plant to have around the house that mosquitoes hate is basil. This herb goes into many of our dishes and adds some nice flavor and aroma to our food. This aroma is exactly what mosquitoes despise; it’s naturally repugnant to them. The herb is toxic to mosquito larvae, so planting it around potential nesting areas will act as a deterrent.

Mosquitoes also hate catnip. The reason they can’t stand this plant is the same reason your cats love it: a chemical called nepetalactone, which is often a main ingredient in insect repellent. Mosquitoes aren’t the only annoying and disturbing insects out there, so be sure to check out these five common pests and the natural ways you can deter them.
