Keep Insects Out of Your Survival Life

Keeping Insects Out of Your Survival Life

(TacticalNews.com) – Insects play an important role in ecosystems, just as all creatures do. However, that doesn’t mean they belong in your home. In fact, it’s probably safe to say you don’t want them there. Let’s look at a few ways to keep these pests out of your home – and your food.

As expressed in the video above, weevils are a serious menace when it comes to the grains in your pantry. Thankfully, there’s a natural way to get rid of them and keep them out of your cereals, rice, flour and other grains: bay leaves. That’s right, you can rub your pantry down with bay leaf oil extract to keep the weevils away. Or you can place bay leaves in the containers to keep the pests at bay.

In a survival situation, the last thing you want to find is insects infesting your food and ruining it. In addition to insects infesting food, they can also infest your home and bring disease. One of the biggest contributors is cockroaches. Typically, people use harsh chemicals to get rid of these nasty pests. However, should you have small children or pets, this isn’t the best option.

Instead, chop one onion and add one teaspoon of baking soda. Place this mixture in the corners of your home, reapplying daily, and soon your home will be rid of roaches. This option is both safe and effective, not to mention much cheaper!
