(TacticalNews.com) – If 2020 has taught the American people anything, it’s that some of our elected leaders don’t have our best interests in mind. That’s why we’ve seen chaos, rioting, looting, and arson in our streets for months. Unfortunately, instead of going after the people responsible for it, some elected officials targeted law-abiding citizens.
Politics in 2020 has ripped families apart due to contrasting views. Unfortunately, some leaders at the state and local level have encouraged the violence rather than deter it. American freedom has been threatened, especially the Second Amendment.
An Unknown America
America sees something completely unheard of: law-abiding citizens have their freedoms stripped from them by the same people releasing criminals from prisons or jails. Those same people tell law enforcement to stand down as businesses are looted, burned, and people’s lives are destroyed, all in the name of social justice.
Hypocritical Leaders
In Chicago, Mayor Lori Lightfoot stood by as her city became a war zone and recorded the highest murder rate in history for one day on May 31. People sleep on the floor in fear of catching a stray bullet. Numerous businesses got burned and looted. What does Lightfoot do? She oversees the release of 25,000 criminals and attacks those who wish to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights and protect their homes.
All of this, while she diverts 100 officers to protect her home, because as she said, “I have a right to make sure my home is secure.” However, she didn’t miss a moment to go after those who obey the law by exerting more gun control in a city with the nation’s strictest gun control laws.
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam decreased the penalties associated with assaulting an officer of the law. He also oversaw the passage of several gun control laws and the release of thousands of criminals.
Mayor Ted Wheeler of Portland, Oregon, told the mob that had been ravaging his city for more than 100 consecutive days that he was sorry law enforcement stepped into the situation. That same mayor fled his city when the mob came to his neighborhood.
City council members in Minneapolis stood alongside the mob and called to defund the police. They also voted to dismantle the police department. That’s bad enough, but to add insult to injury, those same council members then used taxpayer money to hire private security to guard their properties.
All in the Open
The sad truth is that these officials don’t even attempt to hide their plan. First, they empty the prisons and jails, and mayhem ensues. They then ignore it, tie the hands of law enforcement, give the cities to the mob, and worry about their security while everyone else is at risk.
Then, they blame law-abiding gun owners and pressure them to give up their rights to bring an end to the anarchy.
Fight For the Right To Survive
As Americans, we have the right to be safe. For many, that means being able to keep a gun in our home or vehicle. But it’s not just our right to keep and bear arms or freedom of speech that are at stake anymore; it’s our right to survive. The progressive left seems to believe that only government officials and the elites are given the right to protect themselves. But that’s simply not how America works.
Final Thoughts
This kind of situation is why the Founding Fathers gave us the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms, fight tyranny, and protect our families. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness should be available to all American citizens, and they’ll fight for it if they must, just as the Founding Fathers intended.
